Billy D & the Crystals

 Bands come, and bands go, but, as they do, Billy D and the Crystals remain the same, successfully standing the test of time. Originating from an old farmhouse basement back in 1967, two brothers, Jay (bassist), and Jan (drums) Vagts anchor Billy D with their experience and longevity. Along with the Vagts brothers, providing a “Commitment to Excellence” covenant are current members Scott Jarvis (lead vocals since 1990), Mark Ferrell (keyboards, now being in his second tour of duty with the band, first being back in the early 1970’s. Mark has currently been with Billy D the past three years), Matt Downer (guitarist), the new kid on the block who recently joined the Billy D ranks), and Brent Amundson (sound and light technical who has been involved with Billy D since his high school days). Billy D and the Crystals first hit the upper midwest music scene back in the late 1980’s. To date, Billy D has played for, and continues to successfully entertain crowds of all ages with its’ wide variety of song selections. Keeping it simple and keeping it real continues to be the secret behind the success of Billy D and the Crystals. Experience, coupled with longevity remains the bands’ forte. 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, classic rock and roll, crowd participation, whatever it takes, Billy D promises to fit the bill for occasion or function.
