2012 Official Kick’n Up Kountry Karaoke Rules & Regulations

Judges scores are final.

Individual acts only.

Contestants are allowed to use their own CD.

Monitors with words are allowed.

Participants may try to qualify as many times as they wish at any of the participating establishments, but once you have qualified at a participating establishment; you can no longer compete at any of the participating locations.

Employees and Karaoke DJs can only qualify outside their establishment.

This is an amateur competition. You are considered an amateur if you are not under a recording contract.

Contestants are permitted to sing the same song as previous contestants and may sing the same song only once per event.

Weekly judges are to be selected by the Host Venue.

Ties will result in a 2nd round “sing off” (different song) and will be re-scored by the judges.

Your individual scores are available for viewing upon request for a period of 30 minutes after the contest is over. (Excluding State and Grand Final levels)

Failure to comply with all “Rules and Regulations” may result in disqualification.

All types and kinds of music are allowed. (Country, Rock, Blues, etc.)

Talking to and any contact with the judges is discouraged and harassment is grounds for disqualification from the contest. Final decision to be made by the staff of Kick’n Up Kountry, Inc.

You may not change your song after the sign-ups are closed.

Proper behavior is expected. Improper behavior will result in disqualification. Improper behavior includes: intoxication, poor sportsmanship, bad manners, or lack of decorum.

Kick’n Up Kountry, Inc. is only responsible for prize packages provided entirely by Kick’n Up Kountry, Inc.

Kick’n Up Kountry, Inc. reserves the right to exclude any person or persons from the contest at any time, for any reason.
- You must be 21 years or older to enter, unless accompanied by a parent. A parent’s signature is required. Individuals who are under 21 will be allowed only in the establishments that will allow this, and will not be eligible to participate in the Little Kicker Talent Contest. Be prepared to show a valid ID.

The bar will settle discrepancies.

There will only be a 4 week competition offered, but the establishment may elect to offer more than one 4 week competition. (Host site may hold more than one competition)

Kick’n Up Kountry, Inc. is not responsible for any injuries or problems occurring during the contests.

The bars are allowed to add any prizes they wish to the prizes provided by Kick’n Up Kountry, Inc. Three winners will be selected during each of the qualifying weeks. 1st place winner will receive a 3-day general admission ticket to Kick’n Up Kountry, 2nd place winner will receive a daily general admission ticket, 3rd place winner will also receive a general admission ticket. Only the 1st and 2nd place winners will move on to the finals at the bar on the bar’s 4th week.

Final week: (4th week:) There will be 6 contestants and the top three winners will each receive one daily RESERVED ticket ($65 value) for Kick’n Up Kountry and move on to the semi-finals at a location to be determined.

Semi-final winners will move on to the Grand Finals at a location to be determined. 1st place winner will receive $500 and an autographed guitar.

2nd Place winner of the Grand Finals receives $300 and an autographed guitar.

3rd Place winner of the Grand Finals receives $200 and an autographed guitar.

The number of Semi-Final winners will be determined once a final count of bars that are competing is determined. It will be determined at that time how many contestants will move on to Grand Finals.
