Ashley Hewitt, NW Minnesota’s “Nashville Star”
to Return to the Kick'n Up Kountry Stage!

Ardell Larson President of Kick’n  Up Kountry, Inc. has announced that “Nashville Star”Ashley Hewitt will perform at the 5th annual Kick’n Up Kountry Labor Day Weekend Music Festival at the Thief River Falls, MN Fairgrounds, on Friday August 29th, 2008 at 8:45 p.m.

 

The Lancaster, Minn., resident performed with 9 other contestants for 7 weeks on the “Nashville Star” show.  Top prize included a recording contract with Warner Brothers, AEG concert tour, Toyota Tundra Truck, and a 2008 Olympics performance in Beijing!

 

Although her chances ended when the competition came down to just four performers., the judges, Jewel, (who hosted the show last year) John Rich (Big & Rich,) and Jeffrey Steele, 3 time Grammy nominee and 2 time Songwriter of The Year were all highly impressed by Hewitt.

It was an emotional goodbye for Ashley after reaching 5th place in a field of thousands who competed to be one of ten finalists. The 20 year young performer said she isn’t necessarily disappointed by her elimination because she hopes it will “open doors” for her.  And as Host Billy Ray Cyrus said, “Those tears will become tears of joy because you’ll be a big star,”

To accommodate this rising star’s appearance the Friday schedule has been rearranged as follows:  Little Kickers  at 5pm, followed by Mustang Sally @ 7pm, .Ashlee Hewitt @ 8:45pm and Jeff Bates@ 10pm. Ashlee & Katrice to Perform with Louisiana’s Nashville

Ardell Larson President of Kick’n Up Kountry, Inc. has announced that “Nashville Star”Ashlee Hewitt and her talented sister Katrice will welcome special guest Justin Gaston to the Kick’n Up Kountry stage at the 5th annual Kick’n Up Kountry Labor Day Weekend Music Festival.

 

Originally from Louisiana, Justin left home at age 17 to pursue a career in music while supporting himself as a model. Justin auditioned for Nashville Star Season Six and made the top 12.

 

While a contestant he performed "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper, "Hey There Delilah" by Plain White T's and "Drops of Jupiter" by Train before being voted off on June 23rd, the third episode of Nashville Star.
